Soffit & Fascia Repair and Replacement in Crystal Lake, IL
Your soffit and fascia are the boards that close off the edge of your roof. The fascia runs along the bottom of the roofline and holds your gutters. The soffit is the panel underneath the overhang that lets your attic breathe. When either one fails, the damage moves fast, and it rarely stays outside.
Signs it is time to call us
Gutters pulling away from the house or sagging in the middle
Peeling paint, dark streaks, or soft spots along the roof edge
Birds, squirrels, bats, or wasps getting into the attic
Daylight or water stains in the attic near the eaves
Wood you can push a screwdriver into
Soffit panels blown loose or missing after a storm
Why it matters more than it looks
Rotted fascia cannot hold a gutter. Once the gutter tilts, water runs behind it, soaks the roof deck, and works its way into the soffit and the wall below. Blocked or damaged soffit vents trap heat and moisture in the attic, which shortens the life of your shingles and invites ice dams in a Northern Illinois winter. Fixing the edge of the roof is almost always cheaper than fixing what a bad edge ruins.
What we do
We replace rotted fascia board, install new aluminum or vinyl soffit, re-secure or replace drip edge, and make sure the attic is venting the way it should. Because we are also a roofing and gutter contractor, we treat the roof edge as one system instead of leaving you to coordinate three trades. If the gutters have to come off to do the job right, we take them off and put them back, or replace them if they are already shot.
Storm damage and insurance claims
Hail and high wind in McHenry County damage more than shingles. Fascia, soffit, siding and gutters are often covered under the same claim, and they get missed when only the roof gets inspected. We document the whole exterior with photos so nothing eligible gets left off.
